yeah course, when you go to a hairdressers they tend to show you the colour samples..
if your going for a NON bleach blonde barbie girly look then ask for a natural golden blonde..
as for the thinning of hair, ask for some advise on products, they usually have tons of lotions and potions that are specific for everyones hair type..

Approximately how much will it cost to get my hair stripped at the hairdressers?
A couple of months ago i dyed my hair black and now i want to go lighter....an auburn colour and i tried dying it but my hair didn't change colour and i was told that i had to get it stripped. Why do hairdressers always want to cut long hair?
they ALSWAYS do. I know this lady and she has the most gorgeous long hair and there always badgering her to dye it funny colors and cut it dramatically short. Same with my mother. I am always getting compliments on it. whenever I go for a trim, the person wants to cut 8'; off. I have had to stop a few scissor happy stylist from time to time. I would not normally mind but my hair grows extremely slowly. It has taken me 30 years to get it this long and I don't want it chopped off in 15 minutes. No, I don't think my round middle aged face would look good with one of those over 30 super mom helmet cuts..I would look like an over 30 super mom with a helmet. But hey, the client wants what they want and should get what they ask for, so the saying ';the customer is always right';.

I've just heard people say it a lot). I take very good care of my hair, I rarely wash it so it doesn't get dry, and I cut out all of my split ends, so its not like they're trying to cut off the split end BECAUSE THERE AREN'T ANY. but they STILL want to cut off 5 inches when I ask for a trim. so I know I didn't answer your question, but I just wanted to rant along with you. :)

Think about it, long hair doesn't need a regular cut to keep its shape, or any special products to take care of it and stop it from looking awful, unlike short hair. Women with very long hair usually use all natural and homemade products, so the stylist isn't going to earn any commission, are they? Hairdressing is a business.

I have been advised of a range of potential agreements including hourly rates, weekly rentals and profit shares. Can anyone tell me industry standard rates, what works best from both a salon owners point of view and individual hairdressers. Are there tax implications, links to contract formats etc online? Is it better to be a company structure or sole trader?I want to find out details of ';Rent A Chair'; arrangements for hairdressers and/or beauticians?
it really depends on what side you are coming from. i own a salon and my stylists are paid on a 50% commission. from an owners point of view chair rental would be easier but you also have less control of employees because they are considered independent contractors. there are a lot of tax requirements for commission paid employees. i would suggest getting an accountant at first. if they rent a chair you as an owner are not responsible for their taxes, only your own. i am a sole-proprietor and that works for me but there are advantages and disadvantages for both so your accountant can help you with that as well. hope this helps......if you have any other questions i can help you with you can email me at skullzsalon@yahoo.comhair styling

I have been coloring my hair red, I am thinking of changing it to a light golden brown, is this possible being that my hair is a light auburn color.This is a question for professional hairdressers?

13 years on the job tells me that you need some professional help. It he brown you want is lighter on the levels chart than the red you have you will have to strip the red. it will cause the light brown to be very warm and ruddy looking. Colr does not remove color so make no mistake, stripping will be involved. Good luck

it is possible but should be done professionally, i am a hairdresser going through the same thing.....I have red on my hair and wanting my natural light brown color back and mine isn't satisfactory even after stripping the red out and applying the brown.....Red is hard to keep in and hard to get out....go figure. PLease don't try to do this yourself.
