How do you put layers into the hair without having to go to the hairdressers?

Hi I know its best to go to the hairdressers to get your hair cut, but I heard that you can do it yourself, and if you can how do you do it. ThanksHow do you put layers into the hair without having to go to the hairdressers?
I really wouldn't do it! With the right pictures and lots of practice I'm sure you could get it looking pretty good but a professional stylist - also having the advantage of not having to work via mirrors and/or hang your head upside down - would create a much better look.

Thinning scissors, as someone suggested, thin and blend but don't layer. Please don't hack at your hair unless you're looking for that hacked-hair edgy look!!How do you put layers into the hair without having to go to the hairdressers?
its going to cost you twice as much to fix your mistake when you go to the hairdresser.
you never ever!! cut your own hair. any ways, i will give you two options, 1. go to a hair dresser, 2. stay the way you are.
My advice is to just go to ';Just cuts'; or whatever the name to the place where you can get a $10.00 hair cut. I would even go to Wal-Mart before cutting my hair myself.

Go to a hairdresser before you regret it and end up cutting to much off...
If for the sole purpose of saving money, you better get a friend or family member to do it for you, more or less what your local hairdresser would do.

If for a personal challenge, you would need 3 mirrors around you and one in front so you know what's happening at the back... clipping hair at the back and taking layers of hair down at a time and try to cut them all at the same length with each layer.

Good luck!
get 2 the hairdressers not even hairdressers can do their own layers tidy if only it was as simple as cuttin ur layers as u read the instructions off the internet do u think hairdressers would ave jobs if we could all do it as much as u think ur toni and guy with ur kitchen sissors that cant even cut through butter ur not so get 2 the hairdressers xx
It's very simple, buy a weave glue at the beauty supply shop, place the glue on the part of the extension that has the treading. no to much because it could get a little messy, then part your hair with a pick comb and apply the weave to the roots of the hair not the scalp. Just incase you would like to take them out there is something call the weave removal glue, you should get that too, it take the weave out without bursting your hair. these products it not going to cost you no more than $5.oo have fun.
u can do it yrself if yr a hairdresser, it would be to hard to explain how to do it
They have special scissors ((you can buy them at like Sally's Beauty Supply or Ulta Salon)) they are for thining your hair but they should help make some layers
you DON'T

unless you happen to have the necessary training...how are you intending to do the back?!

just go to the hairdressers please
I saw a woman on tv get her hair into a pony tail then bring it to the front (bottom of pony to where your fringe is) and she just chopped into it. When she let it down it was really good.

Don't do it yourself unless you can cope in a crisis!

Good luck
for me I would definetly go to the hairdressers because doing it yourself may damage your hair. You would have to pick up a hairdresser trimmer kit at any major wholesalers etc. superstore, walmart, zellers, the bay at WEM
If you know how to do it means 'If your a hairdresser' You cant cut the back of your own hair YOURSELF never mind put layers in, Just get it done professional it well be 1000000000000000000000000000000 x better!
part your hair in the middle and comb all of your hair straight down then get a pair of scissors and take two fingers and place them across which ever side your going to do first and grab that amount of hair and clip the end. keep doing it until your hair counts out four steps. Layers are basically steps.
My wife used to ask me to cut her hair. She would pull it all straight up and brush it out all 'straight up' over her head and then she would ask me to cut it straight across the top, cutting about an inch or two. It was just enough to get rid of the different length ends. When she let it go and it fell straight down and it fell down in layers. She called it a ';shag cut';. I've seen hairdressers where I get my hair cut do the same thing to guy's hair. It looks creapy on a guy, but it looked great on my wife.

Have fun, R E
witch.w (1st answer) what the **** are u talking about! the lady wants to put layers in her hair, not put streaks in..you can put your hair into a neat pony on top of your head (higher for short layers low for long layers) and cut it off.this will give a layered effect but it wont be totally even.so if your hair means alot to you don't even try it.coz you will defo regret it.(trust me I'm a hairdresser, and iv seen people do it before, and the results it gives. 1%nice 99%****).
