What are the different techniques hairdressers use to color hair?

I know they do foils but what else do they do? Can they also just dye the hair one block color, if so what is that process called?

What do you mean by 'One Block?' If you mean One Section, They can....or Do you mean where they color the whole head, It's just a All over color.





They use Foils, Cap, or they don't put anything on it, and just let it process...
